Our Mission
Fasman Yeshiva is the high school division of Hebrew Theological College/Beis HaMidrash LaTorah and a member of Touro University, which strives to produce Torah scholars and Torah-imbued graduates committed to the principles of Orthodox Judaism, preparing them for advanced graduate and professional programs and to serve the Jewish community and humanity through their professional and personal vocations.
Our History
Founded in 1961 as the high school division of Hebrew Theological College, Fasman Yeshiva High School was established to serve the growing Orthodox Jewish community of Chicago and beyond. From its inception, the Yeshiva’s mission has been to provide serious Torah learning alongside a rigorous college-preparatory education in a warm, nurturing, and growth-oriented environment.
The school is named in honor of Rabbi Oscar Z. Fasman, longtime president of HTC and a visionary leader who championed excellence in both Torah and general studies. His belief that students should be deeply grounded in Torah values while prepared to contribute meaningfully to the broader world continues to shape the Yeshiva’s philosophy today.
Located in Skokie, a longtime center of Orthodox Jewish life in the Midwest, FYHS quickly became a cornerstone institution in the community. Over the decades, the Yeshiva has educated generations of talmidim from Chicago and across North America, many of whom have gone on to advanced yeshiva study in Israel, professional careers, communal leadership, and rabbinic service.
Throughout its history, FYHS has remained committed to fostering a strong beis midrash culture focused on depth of learning, personal growth, and strong middos, while also preparing students for higher education and future success. Today, the Yeshiva continues to build on its proud legacy, developing young men dedicated to Torah, leadership, and Klal Yisrael.
